Aztec Eagle Warrior - A statue of one of the Aztec eagle warriors. These warriors wore headdresses adorned with eagle feathers and shaped like an eagle's head, their faces peering out from the beaks.
Aztec Jaguar Warrior - These warriors, along with the eagle warriors shown above, led the frontal assault into battle. Both classes carried macuahuitls, a primitive type of machete (see Armory), into the heat of battle. These warriors' armor was composed of or covered by jaguar skin.
